Meet the Board of Grind Over Matter Foundation

Our Story:

The foundation was born out of the challenges faced by the founders while producing their documentary, "Natural Hair, the Movie." They realized the lack of educational resources and support systems for aspiring filmmakers of color. Grind Over Matter was established to bridge this gap and empower others to pursue their filmmaking dreams.

Our Programs:

• Let's Make Movies: This program provides on-the-job training for short and feature-length film productions. It's perfect for college students in film programs or adults looking for a career change. 
• Movie Workshops: We offer free online workshops covering various filmmaking topics. These workshops are a great resource to learn about different film professions, paperwork essentials, and more.
• Media Services: We offer video production services to other non-profits and companies we believe in, helping them tell their stories. We also provide one-on-one consultations for aspiring filmmakers.
• Drone Scholarship Program: This program helps individuals obtain their drone pilot license by covering the cost of training, online prep, and testing.
